planar ("we", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when using our team coordination application.

2. Data Collected

We collect only the data necessary for the application to function:

  • Precise location: for live team coordination, GPS-verified patrols and lone-worker safety, with your consent
  • Photos and videos: field documentation and bodycam, encrypted end-to-end
  • Audio: walkie-talkie (PTT) and voice notes, encrypted end-to-end
  • Account information: email and name for authentication
  • Operational data: missions, markers and reports
  • Push token: device identifier to deliver notifications (APNs/FCM)
  • Subscription: purchase history via the App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat (no card data in the app)
  • Diagnostics: crash and error reports (pseudonymized, no email or name)

3. Use of Data

Your data is used exclusively to:

  • Enable coordination between team members
  • Synchronize project data between devices
  • Improve application features
  • Ensure security and prevent abuse

4. Data Sharing

We never sell your data. Data is shared only:

  • With team members you authorize
  • When required by law
  • To protect our legal rights

4.1 Third-Party Services and Processors

We use carefully selected third-party service providers for essential application functions. All providers are GDPR compliant with appropriate Data Processing Agreements (DPA):

  • OVH (France): database, authentication and TURN relay servers, self-hosted; relays never decrypt content
  • Vercel (USA): web hosting (IP, request metadata) — standard contractual clauses
  • Apple (USA): push notifications (APNs) and iOS maps (MapKit)
  • Google (USA): Android push (FCM), Google Play subscriptions, web fallback maps — standard contractual clauses
  • Mapbox & OpenStreetMap: map display (Android/web) and reverse geocoding
  • Stripe: web payment processing (PCI-DSS)
  • RevenueCat: subscription management (iOS/Android)
  • Sentry: error monitoring (pseudonymized)
  • PostHog (EU, consent-based) & Vercel Analytics: aggregated audience measurement
  • Resend (USA): transactional emails — standard contractual clauses
  • Sheety & Google (USA): early-access sign-up form on this website (email address, language and date only) — standard contractual clauses
  • Upstash (USA): API rate-limiting and caching (IP addresses) — standard contractual clauses

Your operational data (missions, photos, audio, locations, messages) is end-to-end encrypted: neither the publisher nor its hosting providers can read it. The database and relays are in France (OVH). Some technical providers are in the USA and receive only limited data (push tokens, IP, emails, aggregated metrics) under standard contractual clauses. All transfers use TLS.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures:

  • End-to-end encryption for team communications
  • AES-256-GCM encryption for data storage
  • Self-hosted authentication on French infrastructure
  • Regular security audits

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

In accordance with GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict processing of your data
  • Port your data to another service
  • Object to processing of your data

7. Data Retention

Operational data is kept while your account is active. On account deletion your personal data is removed immediately; residual operational data (e.g. missions) is permanently purged within 90 days, and backups rotate out shortly after, unless retention is legally required.

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies (authentication, preferences). For audience measurement we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Vercel Analytics on the website; PostHog, EU-hosted and consent-based, in the app). No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking.

9. Modifications

This policy may be updated. Important changes will be notified in the application. Last updated: June 2026 (v1)
